At IWK Health, research and innovation teams are comprised of a diverse mix of roles and specialties often including personnel such as; research associates, project managers, coordinators, assistants, lab technicians and academic scientists. While anyone employed at IWK Health is encouraged to pursue an interest in research and innovation, clinician scientists (academics affiliated with Dalhousie University, and a range of other academic partners) serve as a primary clinical resource for a broad range of health professions including medicine, nursing, and other allied health services. They are respected for their world-class role in advancing medical knowledge, improving patient care, and developing new treatments and therapies. These dedicated professionals conduct scientific investigations and studies to better understand the causes, prevention, and treatment of diseases and medical conditions. Their work helps to identify best practices, inform evidence-based medical guidelines, and ultimately improve patient outcomes and quality of care.
