The Opportunity
The HIS Quality Clerk provides data quality support, which includes electronic record integrity and accuracy of all information collected in patient health records and during admissions a nd registrations. The primary responsibilities encompass monitoring and correcting data collected during patient registration/admission, and auditing patient charts for completeness and accuracy and making required corrections. The HIS Quality Clerk is also responsible to bring forward audit results that require corrections to the HIS Supervisors for further review and escalation to the appropriate parties for ongoing quality improvement.

Your Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-2 years’ experience in a health information services setting required.
- Previous experience using a Clinical Information System (ex. MEDITECH Magic or Client Server, STAR, Millennium, Accuro, etc.) required.
- CHIMA, HICA, or Medical Transcriptionist certification an asset.
- Medical terminology experience preferred.
- Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing, collaborates and works consultatively with all levels of management, community partners, patients, and families. Communicates in an open, honest, direct, and positive manner
- Strong computer skills, i.e. knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet software.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- High regard for quality and attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong coping skills (ability to deal with time constraints, multitasking and working under pressure).
- Demonstrates a positive attitude.
- Ability to work in a team to achieve goals and meet deadlines.
- Understanding of patient flow in the inpatient, day surgery and ambulatory situations.
- Competencies in other languages; French preferred.
