Incentives

Successful external applicants may be eligible for a one-time $10,000 signing bonus and up to $5,000 in relocation assistance, subject to a two (2) year return-of-service agreement.

About the Opportunity

The Stationary Engineer (Power Engineer) operates, inspects, maintains, records data, and performs minor repairs on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, high and low pressure steam systems, emergency power generation systems, containment lab mechanical systems, medical vacuum/gas systems, and fire suppression systems.  The position is also responsible for performing both planned and unplanned start-up and shutdown of systems. 

As a Third Class regulated plant under Department of Labour regulations, IWK Health’s physical plant must be continuously supervised by a licensed Power Engineer to ensure compliance. 

About You

  • Grade 12/GED required
  • Interprovincial Fourth-Class Power Engineer License (Includes Second Class Refrigeration License)

Hours

Monday - Friday and Weekends, 7.5 hour shifts or 11.25 hour shifts (7:00 am-7:00pm/7:00 pm to 7:00 am)
