About this Opportunity 

As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer at IWK Health Centre, you will:

  • Perform high-quality ultrasound studies for pediatric, obstetrical, and gynecological patients, as well as interventional procedures under the guidance of a Radiologist.
  • Provide diagnostic-quality images using accepted protocols to support accurate and timely radiological reporting.
  • Process and archive images to ensure they are part of the patient’s medical record.
  • Maintain accurate patient files in the Radiology Information System (RIS) in adherence to standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in the training and mentorship of other Sonographers, students, and residents as required.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and a team-oriented attitude in all aspects of the role.
  • Exhibit punctuality, manage workload effectively, and maintain high performance standards.
  • Deliver excellent patient care with empathy, ensuring a positive experience for all patients.
